About Us .

One can use words to describe the need that is at hand, but the following pictures tell the story in a manner that mere words cannot.  Take a look at the pictures taken in Bawana and  Holambi Kalan, so called resettlement camps, a nicer word for slums.

Picking through the rocks to find something edible at last.

Somehow one goes on in spite of...

Living under a plastic tarp, no shelter from the cold or the heat.

Those blue plastic sheets - provide a bit of shelter, along with the reeds.

This is beyond living...not even existence...it is hell on this earth.

a bedroom in the open

Don't cry for me - I would appreciate your help

I don't know what to do?

Children always find a way to play.

Smiling...the inner joy is still there in a child.

There must be music somewhere...let's dance.

I can pretend I am going somewhere.

One of the tiny shops in Bawana

Haunting Eyes...

No Garbage pick-up here.

Someday it will get better

Mainstreet

It would be nice to have a treat.

We are waiting for?

Standing in line for medical help.

Waiting for the doctor.

Taking care of the little ones.

This is someone's home...not much protection here.

It is always the same - waiting...

He definitely needs help.

One of the saddest pictures I have seen...but reality.

The road through Bawana

Life in Holambi Kalan.

A store on stilts.

I am looking for my mum...

very touching...the little one

Hoping, dreaming...hoping.

There is water, but not potable...use it to wash clothes or bathe in it.

Stark - naked poverty

Sad street in Holambi Kalan.

A quiet morning.

Most likely - one meal a day.

looks like there is some building going on.

Welcome to our home...

Open sewage running down the gutter...

Gutter being cleaned

Maybe tomorrow...I will have food.

fetching water.

not too pleasant
