If know anything about the life of Mahatma Gandhi it is this, that he spent his time with the poor.  If you read his background as he started Ashrams in both South Africa at first and then later in India, which in a sense were skill training centers.  Places where people learned life skills that empowered them to become economically independent.  Ambassadors of Hope International believes that what Mahatma Gandhi taught then, still applies today.  Look at the pictures below and you will  become convinced as to how effective such training is for a young person trapped in a slum.

They are eager to learn...enthusiastic group

The nice thing about their new skill is, that they keep some of what they make.

they love coming to the skill-center

Here are some of the things completed, along with an AIDS poster.

No electricity needed..

Not only are they instructed, but they work alongside one another.

Besides ... it is fun..

They look quite serious about this....

Mehandi-This is henna art that is painted on hands and feet for celebrations such as weddings....etc.

Now where is that piece?

A lady who is not only learning skills, but also carries herself with a sense of dignity.

Lovely picture of two industrious young ladies.

They train daily until they are proficient in their craft.

Besides the training, the conversations are nice.

They moved outside on a nice day.

Theory .. putting it to practice.

What do you think?

This looks like fun.

I just had to bring the little one.

Now...How do you do that?

Interesting pattern.

Nice and easy...

It will be attractive...

School is fun, if you are able to go.

Did I learn anything?

This young lady...will be lined up in the near future at the skill center.
